Enneagram and Creativity Opportunities in Employee Empowerment
Abstract
The Enneagram allows us to obtain data that helps us understand people's attitudes, egos, pain, defense mechanisms, joys, and lifestyles including their fears, in short, people. Enneagram basically helps people to discover their potential by drawing a roadmap with information that people do not know that they do not know and that will enable them to understand all people, especially themselves. In this study, the situation of teachers was used as a determinant to examine the effect of Enneagram on people's personal and professional skills from their creativity.
For this purpose, from the perspective of the participants, answers were sought for sub-problems such as the contribution of Enneagram training to the creative abilities of teachers and the professional development of these creativity competencies, its contribution to students, and its contribution to education and training. The study was based on the phenomenological research design (Groenewald, 2004; 42). The research was carried out among 147 teachers working in Afyonkarahisar province and receiving Enneagram training in 2021-2022. After the Enneagram trainings, face-to-face interviews were held with the participants.
The research data were collected with the "Semi-Structured Interview Form", which was formed by open-ended questions by those who gave Enneagram training and researchers. Content and description analyzes of the data obtained from the volunteers were made, and the findings were reported. Research results are generally in line with predictions.
This study contributes to the expansion of the range of staff empowerment tools as a result of the applications expected from teachers and the inclusion of the Enneagram in education with appreciative inquiry that supports creativity.
