Abstract

Nowadays, web technologies and applications are advancing rapidly, which.       significantly increases the use of web technologies in education. The most effective tools that enable the integration of technology, especially web technologies, in the field of education are Web 2.0 technologies. These technologies provide a more dynamic and participatory learning experience in education by providing interactive and interactive content. With the increase in technological developments, Web 2.0 technologies have begun to play an important role in students' daily lives and education. The fact that individuals with special abilities assume critical roles in shaping the future has made the education provided for these individuals of great importance. Specially talented students have different developments and potentials than their peers. Therefore, in order to maximize the potential of gifted students, there is a need to differentiate teaching methods and techniques appropriate to their special abilities, rather than standard methods. The aim of this study is to examine the change in attitudes of gifted students towards Mathematics course with the use of Web 2.0 technologies in education. In this regard, qualitative research method was used. The study group consists of 22 students (11 students in 6th grade, 11 students in 7th grade) studying at Bodrum Science and Art Center in the 2023-2024 academic year. Quizizz, Kahoot, Puzzle Maker, Wordwall, Mathigon and Matific applications, which are Web 2.0 tools, were used in the study. The research process consists of six weeks (24 hours). Students will be taught topics appropriate to the achievements of the Mathematics course. They learned how to create puzzles with Puzzle Maker, one of the Web 2.0 tools, design their own activities with Wordwall, do exercises with Mathigon and Matific, and finally create exams with Quizziz and Kahoot to test what they have learned. Students created data and multimedia products using text, graphics, audio and video with the Web 2.0 tool. At the end of the study, semi-structured interview technique was applied to the students as a data collection tool. According to the findings, gifted students learn the subjects in a fun way by using Web 2.0 tools; Their digital skills have improved significantly with the original interactive materials prepared; It is seen that they improve their cooperation, teamwork and problem solving skills. This study shows that gifted students acquire basic mathematics skills more easily, their presentations and in-class work increase, and their motivation for the course increases. It has been observed that it has positive effects on students' attitudes in mathematics education. According to the findings of the research, it is recommended to increase the activities related to these strategies in lessons so that students can use cognitive strategies more effectively. Such activities can positively affect students' overall success and approach to classes by contributing to their development of mathematical thinking skills and strengthening their problem-solving abilities.
